| The Charleston RiverDogs Larry Doby Passion for the Community program provides an excellent vehicle for local corporations and the RiverDogs team up to make our community better. The initial idea is simple -- with the help of local corporations throughout the lowcountry, physically and mentally challenged, unfortunate and economically-disadvantaged youth are given the opportunity to participate in the Charleston RiverDogs Experience. Each participating agency will need to provide the RiverDogs with an Exempt Organization ST-119.1 form. We are dedicating a section of reserved seats at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park exclusively for non-profit groups participating in the Larry Doby Passion for the Community program. Through corporate funded scholarships, these seats will be filled with smiling children cheering on the RiverDogs-some for the first time. The tickets are supplied to the agencies at no charge with a different group taking part in each game. We encourage you to visit the section and see the smiles...it will become evident that together we are making a difference. Your company can help in several ways. Another way to help, is to sponsor the Larry Doby Passion for Community Night. Saturday, August 18th the RiverDogs will treat 1000 youths to a game, hot dog and Pepsi. Coinciding with Salute to the Negro Leagues, this night will benefit non-profit organizations who work with youth in the area.
